Feb 22, 2015 GarageBand Have iPads/iPods? Do you teach a classroom full of eager students that you want to share an audio file with as a starting point? I've got good news for you IF your devices are new enough that you can use AirDrop. So that means it is not possible to have students create a project in GarageBand and then send you the project file – the GarageBand file – by uploading it to Google Classroom or Dropbox or many similar services. When you are using GarageBand it’s very misleading, because you can see those options inside the GarageBand app. Launch GarageBand on your iPhone or iPad. Once you are at the My Songs page, tap on Select and choose your song. In the second row of icons, tap on Open In. Check out all your details and change anything you need to, then tap Share at the top right. Now choose Google Drive. Garageband in the Music Classroom Apple Garageband is a powerful app for both the Mac and iOS. While somewhat different, they both have features that are extremely powerful. I have noticed that when students upload/attach a GarageBand Project file (.band), I have not been able to open it via Mac or iOS. Even after downloading on my laptop, opening the project folder and clicking on the project file, there is always a message that GarageBand is not able to open the file: 'The file couldn't be opened.'
